DAY 51

So now I am over 50 days on my blog...

I have come so far with Pechanga's Closet since I started this 50 days ago.  The ideas about having a web-site were all in my head, and now are actually online and awaiting final touches.  The idea about my LOGO and actually having it out of my head and on paper has become a reality.  My Business cards are made and I have actually handed some out.  I am just awaiting the website up and running before I feel comfortable in sharing my cards.  I want people to be able to click on the website and see something... and something they will see..  I am so darn excited.

Summer is here the weather is beautiful and my mind is filled with so many Crafty ideas it almost keeps me from sleeping.  Tonight I started some LadyBugs for the flowerpots and thought,,, hey, what about some Ants.

At least I was able to get them cut out and a couple sewed. Won't be able to finish them until after the 4th of July Holiday since I will be out of town in Montana.  I am hoping to get lots of ideas from my trip.
Today I will post the latest Playful Dolphin I finished the other day.

DAY 50

Today I finished the Flowers.  Whoohoo.. What a nightmare they were.  No other Craftie has taken so much of my time.. Granted, I was making four of them at a time.  It just seems like they were so much detail.

I spent an hour at Michaels deciding on how to finish them.  I originally was going to sell them by the stem and have a vase to keep them in for display.  After perusing the store for just the right pots and each flower will be potted individually and then embellished with a hand-sewn ladybug.

I got so excited after I thought of this.... I just couldn't stop rattling on to my husband about it. I can't wait to start on the little ladybugs for each arrangement.  Hope to have them done when I return from  the 4th of July Holiday out of town.  In fact, I am hoping to start on the Ladybugs tomorrow night after work.

So here is a little peek at the Un-Potted Flowers

Day 49

Tonight I am posting the pictures of the Sweet Baby Jane Mohair Dove.

She began as a Mohair White Scarf from Neiman Marcus that I found at an Estate Sale.  When I told them I would be cutting it up for my Crafties you would think they were going to faint. But when I see something that will work for my Crafties, my mind swirls with ideas.

This little Dove just turned out sweeter than I could have imagined.  Following: are the other Doves I created so far that have already sold.

Day 48

These darn Flower Power Pechanga's Closet Flowers.  I have spent so much time on them, and still not done.  Tomorrow I'm working on the final touch, the leave on the stems.
I will certainly be relieved when I finish these pains in butts.

Along with 5 Flowers, I finished a Playaful Dolphin & working on a Baby White Mohair Dove.

Tomorrow is picture Day!!!

DAY 47

Today started out with a neighborhood yard sale.  I really didn't have anything to put out there, except a stove I wanted to sell.  So I made my son go through his closet and I went through the doggie closet and some old dVd's and with all that, we made almost $200.  Not too shabby. Even found some fur collars and pom poms at the neighbors, and a mohair purse I can make into something at another.  Such good finds.

The rest of the day was waiting for the person who bought the stove to come back and pick it up... so it forced me to finish these dang flowers I've been working on for Pechanga's Garden.

Just to let everyone know, first come first serve.  After these flowers are done, there will be no more flowers.  They are one of the worst most time consuming crafties I have ever worked on.  Yes, they are cute, but the time I have spend on them is ridiculously silly.  Ridiculously !!!

I won't post them until all 4 are done, but here is a sneak peek at the faces of two.....

DAY 46

Talked to the City of Whittier today and they will fix my Business name. It's funny, the lady in the business license dept wanted to argue with me about spelling the name Pechanga and where it comes from.  Really?   How I should spell it? ..  Last I knew, it was my Dog's name Plus the name of my business,,,,,, now fix it and sent me a copy...

So tonight I thought I would share my favorite pictures of my Lil Miss Pechanga Girl...

Day 45

Tomorrow I need to go back to City Hall... I received my Business License in the Mail and they spelled Pechanga's Closet - Pachanga's Closet.  I didn't pay $80.00 for them to spell my Company name wrong.

I picked up my Banner from the printers.  The Banner turned out awesome.  I will be using it at my Boutiques.  It is sure to bring some attention to my Crafties.  Next month, I am going to have post cards made in the same layout of the banner.  Just another thing I can hand out when I'm doing special events.

I've been debating on joining a woman's business group that meets once a month to promote their business.  I have been dragging my feet until I had more backing me up for Pechanga's Closet.  I think once I get my website (which is coming out great, thanks to Cheryl) I will be more comfortable giving out my new business cards & flyers.

Day 44

Pechanga's Closet is such an obsession of my brain.... I don't know sometimes how I keep it all going.  At the moment, I have three or four crafts going all at the same time and more on my mind. Over the weekend cut out 6 Kitty Kats and 6 Dolphins,,,then this morning worked on the second silly snail.  Then from the snails, I got the idea of Pechanga's Garden.  So now I am working on some Funny Flowers for the Garden.  LIke I say,,,  many crafties all at the same time.  My Brain is Sooooo Crazy.

DAY 43

Today was a Big Day for Pechanga's Closet.

1. Picked up my Banner from Printers...  Awesome....
2. Received Business License from City,,, although they      spelled Pechanga's Closet incorrectly.
3. Spoke to Cheryl re: Website.. she has started it and it is amazing.
4. Hector, the Graphic Artist, finished the Rustic Door for my website.
5. Sold the special order Kitty Kat to cashier at Ralphs.
5. Got my hair done... lol, just thought I would throw that in.

Most importantly.  I am so excited that Pechanga's Closet website is actually happening -- it is the beginning of all my hard work.  As soon as it is created and running,  I can focus on my Etsy page and
my crafties and my final goal of getting a crafty in Stuffed Magazine.

Now back to Crafties,

I finished the Wanna Be Dolphin.  It looks like a Blue Tang, but wishes it were a dolphin. Either way, it's cute.

Day 42

Talked to my sister n law in Seattle about my Trademark on my LOGO...   she said we can get it done cheaper than the internet wanted to charge me.  Just need to do some things to prove I've been selling out of state, fill out the form, send it in and wait for their response,,,  whether I need to argue it out with them or not.  I should have no worries since I designed my LOGO on my own with my graphic artist.
So back to crafties.... finished the Lavender Pony..  Instead of the normal sleepy eyes, I added some black eyelashes.  Cute, looks like she could be a llama.

DAY 41

Back home after a nice weekend of camping.

Got back home and finished some crafties that were near completion.  A so-called Dolphin that turned out like a Blue Tang & the Lavender Pony.  Both will be finalized with detail tomorrow.

In the meantime, my friend got the special order Dolphin and really loved it .  I just know the 6 dolphins I cut out and sewed this last weekend will turn out adorable.   Whether it be a Pod, Heard or School, there will be some cute Dolphins on their way this week.

Below is the special order Dolphin sent to NV....

DAY 40

Still on limited access to internet... so can't post like I would like to.

I spent the day cutting out 6 kittykats, and 5 dolphins.  4 hours of sewing them all together, and they are ready to stuff and detail.  Hope to have them all done by my next Boutique on July 10

This is all my stuff I packed up to go camping with me...  I love camping and sewing...What's camping without your sewing machine

DAY 39

Camping this weekend, so won't have much to post tonight.  I packed up all my crafty material and plan to cut out and sew Kitty Kats & Dolphins.  I want them sewed and then ready to stuff and hand detail....  Let's see how many I can get done tomorrow amongst all the fun stuff planned,,,, like laying by pool and riding bikes.

Tried to upload some pictures, but link is too slow... so it will just have to wait....

DAY 38

Talked to Hector the Graphic designer today about making the special " Door " on my website that opens up to the remainder of my Pechangas Closet home page and gallery.
So awesome,, as usual.

The business cards are done, and will post pictures of all when my trademark is started.  In this case, Legal Zoom wants $495.  to trademark my Logo and slogan... My sisternlaw is going to check that price out and see if I am stuck with it...

In the meantime:  working on a Lavender Pony... it is in early stages.....  Wait until you see it done.. It will wow you.

DAY 37

After one month, I have finally found the exact person to create my web page.

Cheryl knows/understands exactly what my ideas are and has worked with her sister's site linked to Etsy.  This is what I have been looking for --someone who understands my creativity and can try and capture it in my website.

Today I sent her all my draft pages.  I am on pins & needles about this whole thing...  It's finally going to happen.

Next step:  Website then my final goal, to have a Crafty in Stufft Magazine from Pechanga's Closet.

On another note:  I checked out Legal Zoom last night re: trademarking my LOGO--- it was quite pricey.   So my sister n law is going to check with her lawfirm who does this sort of thing and price it out for me.  It might just mean another chunk of money to get this LOGO locked in... my hubbie is just rolling his eyes.  But at some point it has to begin someplace.  It's just that everyone wants their fare share....  $60 here , $ 100 there, $600 here $495 there...  here there,, everywhere... and to top it all off, dropped my new camera in my doggies water dish last night..  DOH!!

Day 36

The Dolphin is Done !!!
It's everything I was hoping it would be.  My friend is going to love it.  Now that I finally have the pattern perfect,  I'll be making more of these.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Day 36

Today has been working on special order Dolphin.

When you make your own pattern for Crafties,,, again,,, it is trial and error.

The first dolphin looked great while I was sewing it, but once it was stuffed.. it looked exactly like a SaltWater Tang Fish...
So back to the drawing board... or pattern making board.
I re-made the pattern.  Cut down here, trimmed up there... now I think it really looks like a dolphin.  Machine Sewing is done, now only hand.

Right in the middle of stuffing the 2nd Dolphin attempt, we had an earthquake. Funny I never even felt it.  We have rocking couches, and my doggie Leroy was playing jump on , jump off, so of course the couch was rocking back and forth.  In fact, I never felt it on the couch..  both my hubby and son felt it.  But not me. Guess I am very grounded.

Come back to finally see what happens with Tang VS Dolphin.....

DAY 35

I gave my Blog Page a new look.  I really like the colors and the layout.  It is very comfortable with the earthtone colors.

Now getting back to Crafties:::

The Kitty Kat is officially done.  After ripping it apart two or three times, I feel it as perfect as I am going to get it.

One of the things I like about this Crafty is the Big Eyes.  Almost like the Cheshire Cat.  This was a special order, but after I "finally finished" it, I loved it so much and have perfected this pattern, I went through all my wools and flannels and matched up 13 more patterns.

I'll cut them all out and then sew at one sitting on the machine.  Then the handwork can be done as I have time.   I ordered the special eyes in all different colors.

So without any further blogging,,,

Here is the first Kitty Kat
