DAY 23

Got back from camping and headed straight for Fabric Store.  Being Memorial Day weekend, I needed to make sure I used my 10% off entire purchase coupon... even sale items.  Yes, I remembered my extra long needle and also the leather straps for the horse and seahorse  Not to mention the many other things I found.

Buttons were 50% off.  Buttons, just love love love buttons.  I have jars of buttons, I have boxes of buttons and I have a button table.  A glass display table full of buttons so I can just run my fingers through them.  When my nephew was little, he loved the button table. I would have him look for specific colors and sizes.

Day 22

Having some problems uploading pictures due to the area we are camping in.  So just a little blogblahblah today.

Sewed up a pink pony for my niece.  Made out of pink wool with flowered legs that are attached so they can swivel.  If I only had a super long needle, it would have made this job a lot easier.  One of my first tasks is to buy my extra long needle when we get home.  The pony is done except for the tail and maybe some sparkly bling bling. Oh, and it will be finished off with a leather lead.  Reminder to self, when buying extra long needle - look for leather cording....

The seahorse is still in the working,  embellishing with turquoise embroidery thread.  Debating on the way to finish off the seahorse back,,,  with half wool balls or fur as with a pony.  I'll try both and decide on m own which to go with.

Hope to post pictures tomorrow for sure.

OUT tonight...  Need to get some rest ...  fell asleep on couch last night with seahorse and needle in my hand,  then ended up with a crick in my neck.. ouch.  Hope to sleep better tonight.

Day 21

Working on Seahorse all day...  can't tell you how many seams I had to rip open because I sewed it inside out... argh..  so now to embellishing this little pony.

Day 20

Day 20

Long Memorial Day weekend camping away.  Brought my sewing machine and material and everything to make some crafties.  Seahorses, Purses & Piglets to be exact.

Tried to upload some pictures but the signal isn't strong enough to post anything.  Actually, I am lucky to have any internet at all.  So this posting sucks big time...  Now my husband it telling me the doggies are ready for

DAY 19

Today was work and getting ready for our Memorial Day camping weekend.  I have lot's of things to sew.  Not many people go camping and bring their sewing machine and iron.. but I do.  Thankfully my husband loves big rigs, and we have a huge motorhome.   So getting away camping for me is getting time to myself.

Since I haven't sewn or accomplished anything today besides packing up, I've decided to share some crafties that I made this last year.  These are some of my favorites.

DAY 18

This little Piglet Went to Market --- This little Piglet stayed home...

Two Piglets done so far.  This newest piglet, I made him a cute little cap to wear.  I was going to make him a little frenchy piglet with a beret' but the beret' suddenly turned into a cap.  For a minute I was going to put a colorful pom pom ball on top, but then I thought it might look similar to a golfers goofy cap... so I nixed that idea.  Because after all, where in the world would I find a little golf club small enough for this piglet .  Plus it reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack.  All though I love that movie.... Bill Murray playing  Carl..." What an incredible Cinderella Story"  love that movie.

Anyways,,, here is the newest Piglet Carl and his friend Chris, the Mohawk Piglet.

DAY 17

Today I checked another item off my list.... applied for my fictitious name statement dba...  So I'm on my way.  Also left a message for a graphic designer to create my logo.

I need the logo for my website, but also for my business cards. I have specific things in mind and won't sway from my ideas.  I just need the perfect person to make it happen.
Another thing I did today was design and order some Pechanga Closet stickers to attach to my crafties when they are bought and wrapped in colored tissue paper for mailing.  Presentation means a lot.

One thing I keep forgetting to do is
attach the special order tags I ordered from
England to my creations.  So important to put
my name on my product...

I'm going to make it a habit
that if they sell on ETSY ,
they get a tag. Such cute tags....

Amongst this busy day, I also
made a pattern for Seahorses..
 Something I will also bring
camping this weekend and
whip out a few.

Day 16

Today I secured my domain, Pechangascloset.com.
Just another thing to mark off of my list of things to do.

So far:

Facebook for Pechanga's Closet  - yes
Blog for Pechanga's Closet - yes
Shop on Etsy for Pechanga's Closet - yes
Secured Domain for Pechanga's Closet - yes

so many more things on my list, but I think I'm off to a great start.

Now, on to better things....

Made an owlie purse to add to the purse collection.  This retro print I found in a shop in Santa Monica and matched it with a bright blue for the lining.  Interior side both have pockets to hold all that STUFF...

Camping thing weekend, and hope to get out a few more purses and maybe some more piglets.

DAY 15

I finally accomplished one of my to-do tasks...

I opened my Etsy shop.  It only took me the majority of my yesterday, but dang I'm proud of myself for accomplishing this and not one swear word, nor did I have to pick up the phone and call my son for help.

So, I have three items on my Etsy shop for Pechanga's Closet.  Three of my favorites to see if anyone has an interest for my crafties.

 Flora the Honey Bee Bear

 Bruce the Blue Bear

Click on the Etsy button on the right side of this blog page to go directly to my Etsy shop.

Two things checked off my list,,,, next on the list is my web page....

Some of my whimsical bears I just finished.  Grandma Simone wanted all my bears to sit... so just for you , Simone, all the bears from now on will be sitting on their lil' beary butts.

The two bears with honey bees on their noses
                                                  are my favorite.

Love everything about them, the material, color and their big wool noses.

DAy 12

This Little Piglet Went to Market!

This little piglet was all hand stitched of soft orange wool and cozy flannel. He has a cute wood button nose and a fur mohawk.

Why the Mowhawk?

Mowhawks allow expression while looking modernly stylish--- in the piglet world.

Actually, it was my son's request, " A Piglet With a Mohawk, MOM"
I think it's cute. This little heart warming Piglet is sure to make anyone Smile or
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal with delight.....

Day 11

Working on 4 Teddy Bears. Last night I finished the embroidery details, tonight is putting on their ears, noses and eyes.

Should be done with these last stragglers and then I can start on my purses this weekend. My material is all washed, folded and ready to coordinate by color and pattern.

Will post Bears tomorrow.

I'm cutting it a little short tonight... came home from not taking a lunch at work and I was literally starving. Went out for Mexican food and ate wayyyyyy too much. Took Leroy and Pechanga (my doggies) for a walk but still feel stuffed...just like one of my crafties. I'm a stuffed tubby bear.

DAY 10

FHS - Fabric Hoarding Syndrome

It's a madness and I think I have it. I love fabric of all kinds. Especially colorful wools, printed flannels, thick & thin corduroys, upholsteries, and playful cottons, Oh heck, I love it all!

The trick to hoarding is to figure out how to organize it so your husband never sees the growing madness.

Stash it here, Store it there. Under the Bed, Behind the Couch.
In this Closet, In that Cupboard.

So now you know my secret.

I accept I have a problem and I'm afraid there is no cure for me.....

Day 9

Since the purse came out so cute.. I've decided to make more. So this morning I went through my material stash and grabbed up all the material I've hoarded from the Quilting shows and took it over to Joann's Fabrics to match up with a coordinating pattern.

After two 1/2 hours, my hubby finally called me and asked if I was ok... heehee,, of course I am, just enjoying an evening of matching. Although when I took my finds to the cutting table the employee wanted to turn and run. They hate it when they see me roll my cart up. But the funny part was when I went to check out, they had mis-computed one of my yardages and instead of putting in 1/2 yard, they put in 500 yards... yikes, my bill was $2365.oo ... Ummm, I'm nutty about material, but that was a little ridiculous even for me. Even my coupons wouldn't make a dent in 500 yards.. lol.

All in all, brought my wares home and will wash them tomorrow, get them all folded and match them up to their coordinates, and get ready to cut and sew.

Looking forward to Memorial Day weekend, taking all my material & machine camping with us -- and I will make it a nice sewing weekend. I should be able to whip out quite a few purses.

DAY 8

Today was a sewing day with my bestest friend Elizabeth. She is my only friend who shares my desire for sewing, crafting, cooking and most everything else.

Today was different from sewing my crafties , as I took on a small purse out of a french cotton print, using a black pin stripe for the inside. This was fun, and I think before the week is done, i'll put another one together in a black and pink oooh la la french print.

Remy Fundraiser

Day 7 Fundraiser Day

Today was the fundraiser for Remy, a little boy born with a serious heart condition. All the proceeds went to his ongoing medical care.. It was a fun day of Bunco -- this was the my first Bunco experience. It was fun. I had bunco twice and had to wear this funny hat... So me! I would so play bunco again... roll the dice.

Pechanga's Closet and Stephanies Cakes donated all their sales to Remy's care. Just a dent in the expenses, but hopefully we inspired people to share and do good for others.
