DAY 80

Getting ready to go RV camping tomorrow to our favorite place.  Sewing machine is already packed up with all my necessities to make all my pups.  Instead of taking all my material, I worked hard tonight to cut our 15 pups.  8 little wiener pups, 4 poodle pups & 3 schnauzer pups.

I must say, my material matching this time is absolutely adorable. Plaid pups, leopard pups, cherry pups, pink pups, turquoise pups, polka dot pups, embroidered pups & flowered pups.

All ready to start sewing. I need three done by Sunday, the rest to be done by August 13 for Downtown Dog Days in Fullerton.  I am sharing a booth with Sophie's Dog Barkery.  Miyuki, the owner, is nice to have my pups in her store.  The more the merrier.

I have some new pictures of the schnauzer, so I thought I would post them tonight.  My brother was so happy with it.  Can't wait to hear how his girlfriend's Mom liked it.

Day 79

Super tired tonight after staying up and finishing the schnauzer pup.  It did turn out adorable and actually got a wow this morning from my husband when he saw it sitting on the shelf.

My next goal now that the website is up, is getting my crafties in the Stuffed Magazine.  It comes out twice a year and is amazing for anyone who does what I do.  It's a stuffers fantasy.  I purposely left it for last on my things to do.

I felt if my Crafties were chosen to be in the magazine, I needed somewhere for people to come visit me... whether it be on my website, facebook, blog, etsy or email.  I have it all covered.

When you want to submit your crafties for submission, you must mail them your creation/s with instructions on how you created them.  Plus postage $ to return to you if you want it back.  They can keep it for up to 9 months because there are so many submissions, they need time for their review.

After looking at what they actually choose in the magazine, I carefully thought about what might be my best crafties.  So after discussing it with my husband, I've made my decision.

I'll blog about them when I have them all made.  Need to create 3 more items for my big submission.

The deadline is August 15th so I need to focus on these crafties very soon.....

DAY 78

Posting picture of Poodle Pup,,,

Finished the special order Schnauzer for my brother.  Off to Illinois it goes.  I was very very happy with the way she turned out.  Cute as a button. I used the old wool sweater I found at an estate sale.  Then made the beard out of fur, but I wasn't satisfied with the fluffiness so I felted some wool felting on top of it and fluffed it up even more to form it's perfect beard. Finished felting all over with wool to give her the perfect groomed look.

Day 77

This day began so badly. Before going off to work, I thought if I could just get some Hummingbirds sewn, then I could stuff them at lunch and finish off by hand this evening.  Except when I started to sew on the machine the detail work, I noticed, the machine, never used from my Mom, that I took to have tuned up, was not sewing the decorative stitches accurately. Oh, I could just scream.  This is the third machine in one year that something has happened to.

So off to the repair shop I took it.  As the day went on, I didn't get that phone call from the repair man to tell me whether he could fix it or not.  Being a computer problem, he was not sure he could fix it... He's more like a fixit gear fixit it guy.

When he called and told me he got it all timed up. I screamed out in joy.  Thank goodness.  Just when I had started adjusting to it,,, I hated to have to maybe lose it.

Whew, close call.

Back to hummingbirds.  Got one ready to stuff and detail.  My brother called, he wants me to make a schnauzer for his girlfriends Mom's birthday.  I love challenges.  In fact, I had the perfect wool sweater to cut up to make it.  It will actually looked like a perfectly shaved schnauzer.   Just need to look for fur to make his curly face and undercoat.

Sewed all the pieces, now the hand work.  Hopefully can finish by tomorrow. Would love to have in the mail to make it by her birthday on Saturday.

DAY 76

Went to the International Quilting show in Long Beach today with my friend Princess.  It is aisle after aisle of vendors with sewing and crafting items.

So many ideas I got for Pechanga's Closet...  Skeletons for Halloween, Pumpkins, turtles, loads of wool material and an idea for a poodle pup.

Got home and right away started on the poodle pup in magenta with white puffs of fur.  Regal as he is, he is almost done.... I have white fur everywhere.  But I think this pup will be so cute and a real popular one.

It's a lot different than the pups I usually make.  Once I get this first one under my belt,,, I'll be able to tweak my drawing/pattern to what I think is proportionately correct.

DAY 75

Got so much accomplished today before the Concert in the Park event.  Ever since my website has gone up, I have a list of projects for customers, plus trying to keep updated on things for my boutiques.

Today I finished the two owlie twins, Odie and Ophelia.
Finished the Jeanie Bear special order, finished the Kitty Kat & finally finished the other Super Wiener.

At the concert in the park, I made many connections.... one being Miranda Calvin, an exceptional artist.  I love her work.

Also was hooked up with Renegade Crafts, and went online and requested they take one of my crafties on consignment.  I chose the seapony.  I will await their response if they want to accept my entry.

Day 74

A few weeks ago at the Trinity Flea Market, I ran into a friend who was selling her daughters clothes she had grown out of.  In amongst the clothes, I found the cutest pair of jeans, embroidered from "The Gap".
My friend told me those were her favorite jeans for her daughter when she was little.  Of course, I thought, how could you sell them for a few dollars... So I told her I would make her a bear out of them, so she could keep her favorite jeans forever. Her name would be-- Jeanie Bear!

So with that in mind, and my website going up, I got a message on Facebook this morning from a FB friend asking about making a Memory Bear.  His wife's grandmother passed away and wanted to know if out of some of her clothes I could make a Teddy bear.

Thinking of the two together...  saving the memory of a toddler wearing a cute pair of jeans and saving the memory of a beloved Grandmother and all she meant to someone.  What a special gift. " Memory Bear"

What a gift.

Finished tonight Jeanie Bear, and waiting for the package with Grandma's Clothes so I can make that special gift....

This is a sneak peak at Jeanie Bear

DAY 73

Finished the super wiener last night.  Very Cute.  Today I took all the Pechanga Pups to Sophie's Dogshop Barkery.  Talked my friend Miyuki, and she is going to showcase the pups in her store.  Very nice.  There is an upcoming event in Fullerton,,, Dog Days,,,  Miyuki has a table for her shop and I'm going to join her with some more of the Pups.

So to get ready, next on the list will be an assortment of colors of Pups.

I have met so many wonderful people... Love this about having pets that you love so much, you enjoy them and at the same time meet great people who love their pets as much as you do.  There is just something special about Pet Lovers.

Day 72

Website is up and running... Yeah,, I love just saying that.

Crafties can't stop. Cut out and sewed two Super Weiners and with the scraps, made two Owlies.  Tonight I will start the stuffing. Stuffing the Weiners takes a long time to get them so tight and stiff.  LOL.. that sounds so nasty. Couldn't help myself.  But it is true.  It is very hard to stuff these puppies.  The end result is worth it. They are so darn cute.  All together, I have made three Super Weiners & Sold all of them. The first one I don't have a picture of but here is the other two and another stuffed weiner doggie.

DAY 70

Missed a day of my Blog yesterday... what a crazy busy weekend.  Next thing I knew, I was falling asleep on the couch with my fingers on the laptop and the battery screaming red...

Yesterday, my BHS (button hoarding syndrome) went into full swing.

Joann's Fabrics ws having their 50% off sale on all their buttons and well, I couldn't help myself.  Small Ones, Big Ones, Wood Ones, Glass Ones.
The funny thing.... I only bought buttons with two holes.  Why?  Not quite sure, just another idiosyncrasy I have or should I say idiosyncrazy!

Saturday at the Riverside Boutique I worked on a
Kitty Kat and then another one that night which is almost done. Next is the rest of the Hummingbirds.  Already a request for a red one.

DAY 68

Had a Boutique at Riverside today. Had a great day and made lots of connections.  This was more of a connection event than a $$$ making event.  May lead to more in the future.  A few ladies in Riverside are having a private Boutique in their house in November, and Pechanga's Closet was asked to participate...  Yeah.

After got home @ 3:30, had and hour to re-hydrate from the 104 degree weather and get ready for the next event at Adventure Park's Concerts in the Park.

Day 67

Tomorrow is the busy day, two shows in one day.....

I finished the butterfly today and another birdie.  I was hoping to have more birdies made to fill my cage, but i'll have to wait until I have more free time... LOL... what's freetime?

As I write this, I still need to price the dolphins, birds and butterflies for tomorrow.  And finish the last minute details on the Lady Bug.

A friend wants 4 Ladybugs....... I'll put him on the toodoo list.
Below are my latest Butterfly and Birdie.

DAY 66

Been working on Crafties all week.  Two shows on Saturday, one in the morning at Riverside Women's Club then in the afternoon at the Concert in the Park.

Last night I finished the Hummingbird and another tweety bird. The Hummingbird turned out so adorably cute, not sure if I can sell it.  I don't think I will get a chance to make another one before this weekend but I will definitely do some more for the next show.

Day 65

uSo talked to my sister n law about the trademark.  I think we are set, just need to go online, file my papers and get this thing started.  My website going up is only more proof that I have been using my LOGO before anyone else.  So still scheduled to be up this week.  As soon as it is, a link will be posted on this blog, and a Blog will be devoted to the grand event.

Back to Crafties:  Been working on some new stuff for upcoming boutiques.  The next one this weekend at Riverside Woman's Club.

Finished today:  Birdies, butterfy, dolphins, Ladybug & a Hummingbird. More on Crafties tomorrow.

DAY 64

I am very close to the Website going online.  It is literally any day now.  I am a bit nervous about the whole thing.  I talked to my sister n law about the status of my trademark on my logo...  working out some last minute details before I can file the papers. It's coming to the wire.  Actually, the whole thing gives me a minor panic attack.  I hate that I worry so much about things.  But I am so worried about someone taking what I worked hard on... and my sister n law, Erika, is so concerned about, as she should be, do things right the first time.

So back to Crafties... what I like to focus all my attention to.

I am working on Tweetie Birds and Butterflies.  One bird done, and two to come.  The butterfly will be posted tomorrow, it just needs it antennae. I am trying to decide on the best thing to use.

This weekend is the Christmas in July Bazaar in Riverside.  Only Handcrafted items.  So I am determined to have quite a few tweety birds done.
