I WANTED TO SHARE BY FUN FLUFF FILLED FRIENDS I CALL CRAFTIES WITH EVERYONE SO THEY CAN ENJOY THEM AS MUCH AS I DO. THIS WILL BE A YEAR OF LEARNING AND EXPERIMENTING WITH ME AS I GET MY BUSINESS OFF THE GROUND.
A BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
WHEN I WAS 4 YEARS OLD, MY MOM TAUGHT ME TO SEW. I HAVE DABBLED WITH IT OVER THE YEARS, BUT NEVER FORGOT THE TECHNIQUES SHE TAUGHT ME. HER TEACHINGS ALONG WITH MY VIBRANT IMAGINATION ARE WHAT PECHANGA'S CLOSET CRAFTIES ARE ALL ABOUT. MY CRAFTY CREATIONS ARE UNIQUE IN EVERY WAY. EACH ONE THAT I MAKE GIVES ME A SMILE AND A GIGGLE OF ENJOYMENT AS I LOOK AT EACH ONE I FINISH...
"STITCHED WITH LOVE , THEN FILLED WITH FLUFF & FUN!!!"
ALL OF MY CREATIONS ARE ONE OF A KIND. YOU WILL NEVER FIND THEM ANYWHERE ELSE. I MAKE MY OWN PATTERNS AND MATCH MY OWN FABRIC TO MAKE THE MOST UNIQUE CREATIONS. IT'S WHAT I FEEL AT THE MOMENT.
SO ENJOY & WELCOME TO MY CRAZY CRAFTY WORLD.
PECHANGA'S CLOSET IF MY CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS BLENDED WITH MY JOY OF SEWING.
The Owlies only stand 3" tall and fit inside a miniature cage. So darn cute. I'm sure I won't be able to keep them on my boutique table. I just posted Peeper the Miniature Caged Owlie on my Etsy Page.
A few months ago, I ran into an old friend from our kids grade school. We were room Mom's together and our kids were bestest friends. Over the years we lost contact. But then while getting a pedicure, we became acquainted again. It's nice to see my friend, Myra after all these years & to see her girls all grown up.
Myra requested a wool bag with felting. Out of the norm that I usually do, I put my Pechanga's Closet spin on it.
She loved it, and I was glad to meet back up with her again. Old friends are the best friends to have.
When I was in San Diego visiting my son, we stopped by a bead store I had been wanting to see for months... There I found some colored marbled skeleton heads. What was I going to do with them... who knows. I figured it would come to me. Then on the way to an appointment on Sunday, I sat in the back seat of the car with my wire & pliers and created these little skeletons.
This was an entire Pechanga's Closet sewing weekend. So many projects finished and new ones started.
Baby May Monster is done. My friend Nikki wanted a Monster for her baby Maysen out of one of her newborn outfits. Baby May is the cutest baby you would ever see in your life. So adorable. I wanted to give Baby May Monster a Big Blue Eye just like Baby May's Big Blues. This toy is baby safe... no buttons. It can withstand the sucking & teething . Just a cute squishy Monster.
It's 11:45 and I just finished with my Pechanga's Closet sewing day.
Pictures to follow tomorrow, for one thing it is too dark to take pictures tonight, plus, I'm just too tired... LOL
Sewed today... 3 baby caged Owlies, One Life Sized Jeanie Owlie, Baby May Monster (special order for Baby Mayson,,, babymayonline.com) & L'Orange Monster.
All are completely finished but Jeanie Owlie & L'Orange Monster. They still need to be stuffed and hand finished.
The Monsters in the Closet are complete. 13 crazy Monsters. They will make a nice addition to my table for October Boutiques. They are crazier than I ever imagined in the beginning.
13 Monsters for Pechanga's Closet. Lucky #13. Or unlucky # 13. In the deep dark slumbers of your dreams you awake to look over at the closet and see the door ajar, just a bit & peeking out with one eye, is one of the Monsters in the Closet.
Almost finished, just a few more details. But here is a sneak peak into Pechanga's Closet of Monsters. Muuuuuuhhaaaahhaaaahhaaaaaaaa......
Over the past few months, there have been a few instances where Pechanga's crafties have been lost or destroyed. I will get frantic messages or calls how the kids are heartbroken over the loss.
Recently, my friends daughter, Sophia, brought me the remains of an eaten Pechanga Pup. With tears in her eyes, she asked me if I could fix it. At first, I looked at the destruction and thought, ummmmmm no way.
With careful care and love, I overlooked the situation and re-evaluated my first decision. It was a challenge, but I was very very satisfied with my work.
The Owlies are one of my favorite thing to make in Pechanga's Closet. I can really use my eclectic creativity to make them all so different.
I originally made my first Owlies with feet of pinecones. But I was finding that sometimes if they weren't placed correctly, they would wobble and fall over. After months of re-evaluting what I could do, I discovered a new technique after making my butterflies. Colored Wire twisted and curled just right. Plus the colors accent more of the Owlie. I'm soooooo loving the new feet.
I revamped my pattern for the kitty kat. I decided I wanted one to stand tall with a fat bottom and long tail. To make the kitty kat stand tall, I stuffed it real full and tight and put a wood disc in-bedded in the base so that it will sit flat.
She is what I call Sable Kitty. I posted her to my Etsy shop today for sale.
